The Article above, was extract from the RAOC Corps Gazette, entry 197302-311 23/03/2011 Note from Donald Hine addressed to Roy's daughter Caroline: Hi Caroline I served with your father in 3 section, 321 EOD in Lurgan as a signaller. Your father was a quiet, no fuss man who made sure everyone understood what was required on operations. Off operations he patiently filled the gaps in our abilities and helped build a great team. He was a brave, methodical and thorough professional. The section was hit hard by his loss but I know that will never approach the loss of a husband and father. I hope this will help towards filling in the picture of your father. I didn’t know him for a long but what I saw was inspiring and I have often thought of him and the family he was taken from. Donald Hine Any details, memories or photographs that you may have would be most welcome.
