Retired as RSM in December 1982 Barry suffered from Parkinson’s disease since 2010 and recently developed a chest infection. He passed away peacefully at his home in Morecambe
It is with sad regret that I have to report the passing of our member Barry Lambert. Barry died peacefully at home on 18 May. He had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for about 3 years and had contracted a chest infection. He went to bed on the Friday and never woke up. I am in contact with the family and will pass on his funeral details which is taking place on the 3rd of June. Barry was the first person I met when I left Jnrs to go to Ord Dep Aden, he being the RP Cpl made sure that I was dressed smartly in the mornings and it was he who trained me to pass my RPC 3 and 2. We were both posted to Emblem within 3 months of each other, he being the RP Sgt and I the Ord Rm Cpl. We continued our friendship throughout our careers and when he retired as RSM I continued on to commissioning. He was without doubt the driving force behind my career and I shall miss him. We have been in contact by email for many years but since the onset of his disease contact became rarer.
