We got on very well .I remember Rod was quite strict but fair and a good sportsman. A brilliant boxer and target shooter. He was quite a big well built lad in those days and I don't think that he ever lost a fight and won all contests by K.O's. I never met him after boy's service and eventually got in touch via email. He told me all about his family and the other love of his life, his yacht. As I live near the Beach in South Australia, we often joked about him and Jeanie sailing to Australia and meeting on the sea shore. My wife and I send our sincere condolences to Jeanie and his family. R.I.P Rod.
