Comment extracted from UNIVERSITY OF GLOUCESTER:
Ron Prewer aka Mr St Paul's It is with great sadness that we have to report that Ron Prewer, former student of St Paul's Practising School 1947-1950, donor and friend of the University passed away on Wednesday 1st August after an illness. Ron was highly involved with the University through a variety of activities including fund raising for the restoration of the St Paul's Practising School World War One memorial board and for the creation of a World War Two memorial board. He arranged annual reunions for the St Paul's Practising School Association as well as other social and fund raising activities. Including coffee mornings in the local communities at which he showcased the history of specific parts of Cheltenham, especially St Paul's. Over several years Ron worked with many students and staff in exploring the history of the locality in which Francis Close Hall campus sits. Known as 'Mr St Paul's' he will be sadly missed and our thoughts and prayers are with Ron's wife Sylvia and his family.
