Written by Tom Richardson, 4th. June 2008 Mick Woolham died in a road traffic accident (on the A1)on 21st Nov 1995. I had the honour of being his best mate, during our service career and after in civvy street. Mick (a proud Yorkshireman)settled down in Long Eaton, Notts, with his wife Margaret. Our families spent many good times together prior to his unfortunate accident. I am still in contact with Margaret and his daughter Beverley. Mick and I were both heavily involved with Long Eaton Rugby Club, where he remains with great affection. Should anyone wish to know more about Mick Woolham, I would be glad to speak to you in regard to my great friend. Des Chapman Written by Des Chapman, 12th. I knew Mick when we were both Cpl's at Chilwell in the mid 70's. We were good friends. Mick was a quiet man who loved his rugby. In the early 90's I was on the Long Service List, working in the ACIO in Bradford and for some reason I had to ring Chilwell. It was Mick I was speaking to and from there on we spoke fairly regularly over the next few years. We met again at the closing ceremony for Chilwell and had a couple of beers in the Mess, along with other old friends. I retired shortly after and always wondered how Mick was getting on. It was only on these pages that I heard of his sad passing. A lovely man, who I am sure is missed not only by his family, but also many friends in the Corps.
