In November, 2002, 56-year-old Dennis Grabham was murdered in Madeley outside Telford, Shropshire. The court heard that Nenad Tomovic stabbed Dennis, his mother's boyfriend, "without provocation", as he walked down the stairs. The defence said that Tomovic was "depressed and dependent on alcohol and his mother". Mr Justice Curtis sentenced him to 10 years in prison, after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
