May 1947 - †22nd December 2007 Former RAOC Junior Leader in Baker Platoon September 1962 - December 1964 Sadly 23913903 WO1 Ronald Arthur Gray passed away on 22nd December 2007 and was cremated at Banbury Crematorium on 7th January 2008 Ron’s Military Postings were: RAOC Junior Leaders Battalion Aden 65/67 - Fallingbostel 67/70 - Singapore 70/72 - Larkhill 72/73 - Gutersloh 74/76 - Kineton 76/79 - Soltau 79/80 - Fallingbostel 80/81 - Soest 79/80 - Duisberg 82/82 - N. Ireland 82/82 - Duisburg 82/83 - Fallingbostel 83/84 - Bicester 84/86 - Australia 86/86 - Bicester 86/87 - Dulman 87/88 - Bicester 88/89 Ron's brother Alan writes: Sadly my dear brother has passed away. We will always remember him for his great sense of humour, eternal optimism, and love of life. They say the good die young, and my brother Ron was a truly good guy. Ron loved his golf,and was an accomplished guitar player. He entertained us all on countless accasions and always made us laugh. Missing you Bruv,love Alan  Dave McCarthy writes: Ron joined Junior Leaders with me, went to Aden at the same time and was in Kineton, again the same time as me. He will be sadly missed. RIP Ron. My thoughts to his family. Brian “Snowy” Snowdon writes: I served with Ron Gray in Fallingbostel from about 1982-83 I think? A brilliant bloke especially as a boss and I used to envy his new Rover 3500 he had back then! 'Q' Gray was a true character and always up for a laugh. We lost Ken Wishart in Fallingbostel under Ron's watch and he helped me deal with that as a young 18 year old ... I was fortunate enough to see him again at Bicester in about 1986. One of the BEST bosses I EVER worked for and the world is worse off with his loss.Ron 'Q' Gray, RIP. Gone but not forgotten. Brian “Snowy” Snowdon 1981 - 1987 John McGurk (served 1964-88) writes: WO1 RON GRAY was a Tech Clerk who I first met in 1967 at 7 Armoured Workshops S/S. Ron was a good mate and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. My thoughts go to his family and best mate Mac. Note by Site-Moderator: "Mac" refers to Colin Andrew MacGregor, who posted the original notice on RAOConLine. Roger Bourne (served 1966-71) writes: I had some good times at 7armd with Ron, we made a good ablutions duet. The world is a sadder place for his passing. My thoughts go to his family, and to Mac without whom I could not have left these few words. Ian Grey (served 1963-86) writes: I last met Ron in Ironsides Barracks, Scheuen in 1967, he was hunting Red Stars with 7 OFP. Ron was with S/S 7 Armd Wksps.  We had been in Junior leaders Bn and Aden together.  Received a salute from him in 2006 on Forces Reunited and we spoke a number of times on the phone and exchanged emails.  Sent a email in Dec 2007, and his wife replied to say that he had recently passed away.  A great character!
