He came from a little village just outside of Ringwood in Hampshire ........ we played basket ball for Junior Leaders, for the men's team and then for the Army together. A volatile character, with a wild side to him. as a boy. I got on with him quite well. Paul Jones 5/3/2011 Sad news indeed! Another Steevens House boy of my era, with whom I shared many memories of those developing years. We met once again when he was a member of the Permanent Staff in 1973, but then lost touch, but he was a part of my life that will never be forgotten. R.I.P Brian! R.I.P. KESS, YOUR MATE STAN Stan Lomax 2/4/2011 R.I.P Kess. Brian was my basketball mentor in the Apprentice College and I later in 1974 followed him to 7 OFP with famous sayings like “pull up a circular saw and join the gang”. He was a good man who loved his basketball. Peter William Potter 5/4/2011 Very sad to hear of Kessons ( thats the name I knew him by back in 1964/65) passing. He was part of the Stan Lomax’s gang along with Geordie Wardrobe at COD Bicester, being my first posting these guys were to LOOK AFTER ME as I was just 18. What a laugh raiding the cookhouse was. Kesson was the quiet one and was courting strong when he asked me if I would fancy taking his posting to Malaya for six months as he was planning to get married, this I did gladly. Only when I arrived in Malaya did I find out it was for two and a half years. Kessson was a great guy to know and is one of only a few old mates that I have never forgotten. Very, very, sad news.
