Obituary for PETT, Raymond J.

Pett_RJ.jpg - Raymond John PETT *1949 – †25 July 2011 Ex RAOC Junior Leader & J/CSM Watts Platoon April 1965 – 1967 Retired as a Major and passed away at his home in Exeter I was a 'term' in front of Ray and so was already in Watts Platoon, 'B' Coy when he arrived early in 1965. We eventually became pals, ending up 'senior' members of Watts. Ray got promoted before me and ended up a very good J/CSM & me behind him a J/Sgt. (We were both mentored by that most excellent of men, CSM Maul). After JLB we were posted in different directions and I left the service in 1971. I traced Ray via the JLB site in 2010 (& others) and was delighted to learn of his superb career, ending with the rank of Major. Not bad! I am therefore saddened to learn (only today - 20 Nov 2011) of his passing. RIP old pal. Tony Burgin (Watts Platoon 1964-67), in November 2011 Also see this family announcement.
