Danny, Paddy Phillips and I joined the Junior Leaders in Belfast in November 1958, and travelled together to the camp at Blackdown.
During our time in the Junior Leaders Danny and I became close friends, sadly we lost touch when he passed out of the Junior leaders.
However I managed to get in touch with him in 2004, and we communicated both via phone and msn messenger on the internet, talking about old times and trying to remember other Junior Leaders who had joined up at the same we did. During our conversations he never gave me any indication that he was ill, he only informed me that he was working part time and enjoying his fishing and shooting.
We were to meet up sometime this year but sadly this will now never happen
When I received the news that Danny had passed on it came as a great shock to me as I had been in touch with him shortly before 11, April and he seemed happy and well, however I still have the memories of both Danny and I, the good times we had together and the photo of him and I together with another friend called Symonds.
