Obituary for YACOMEN, Ronald E.

RAOC.gif - CSM Ronald Ernest Yacomen * 1 April 1935 - †September 2005 RAOC Boy Soldier 1951 - 1953 Passed away at his home in Liskeard Cornwall Ralph Fella (Body 1965-67) writes: I well remember Ron when he was CSM 11 OFP in BAOR during my time there in the early 70s. Although I was serving with 7 OFP at the time, (the two units shared the same barracks), I knew Ron through Hockey. He was a hard but fair player. A quiet man who had the respect of all. In particular I recall that, for a reason I cannot remember, he had to have a leg amputated. Within an astonishingly short time after his operation he returned to duty and remained an enthusiastic supporter of Hockey.
