At the Junior Leaders from 1968 onwards  Passed away at BMH Rinteln of a heart attack following an RTA (RAOC Gazette entry 1986-11 Page 249)  Denis Smith was in Basic Training with me in 66/67 and a PTI Cpl at JLDR's from 68. He died sometime in the 80's Jack Frost, 25th. March 2008  Denis Smith was SSgt CQMS of 13 Ord Coy at Obernkirched where he was popular member of the Company. In 1986 or 87 he was involved in a car accident between Oberkirchen and Buckeburg. He was taken to BMH Rinteln and hospitalised. During the night he suffered a heart attack and attempts to revive him failed. I had known Denis for years since we were recruits and had served with him at the Apprentice college. As Admin Officer I had the task of officially identifying the body. His wife requested repatriation and a minibus full of troops from the Company including myself and the OC gave nim a proper send off in full uniform Tony McIntyre, 17th.
